"Perbacco"
rises up on the edge of Monte
Nerone and is the ideal starting point for those people
who want to have contact with nature and spend time in our unpolluted
woods and who at the same time do not want to miss the beauty of Piobbico,
with its Brancaleoni Palace, the medieval village with its culinary
traditions among others, which have been going on for centuries.
The
first people to appreciate its advantageous position were the Brancaleoni
counts, who in the 15 hundreds built the first of the 3 present homesteads,
using it as a hunting residence.
An
indication of “Perbacco’s” age is the old fireplace with details in
worked travertine which very probably dates back to the time of the noble
family of Piobbico.

And
little more than 100 years ago (1878) in the area where
“Perbacco” is, a
Celtic and Etruscan necropolis was discovered (from the 5th
century BC to Roman times), the contents of which are conserved in
the museums of Ancona and Bologna, as well as in the archeological
section of the Palazzo Brancaleoni museum.
In
addition only 100 metres away is to be found the Sanctuary of Santa
Maria in Val d’Abisso from the 11th century, which is
the starting point for path number 1, which runs along the edge of
the stream and will lead you to discover Monte
Nerone, with waterfalls and breath-taking views.
